The challenge was to bring a 19th-century painting by Auguste Raynaud into a contemporary visual language while preserving its dreamlike symbolism. I wanted to explore how the suspended female figure and flying birds could still resonate with today’s emotions and experiences.

The idea focused on introspection, transformation, and our deep connection to the inner world. I aimed to translate these themes into a style that is both personal and timeless.

In the final illustration, I created a minimal, organic, and quiet visual interpretation of the original work.


The piece reflects my own perspective, exploring the emotional landscape of moving through the night and connecting past symbolism with contemporary sensibilities.
